Reasonable Accommodation

The office of Disability affairs coordinates all reasonable accommodations requests for Fulton County employees who have disabilities.

Reasonable Accommodation is the modification or adjustment to a position application process that enables a qualified applicant with a disability to be considered for the position such qualified applicant desires; or modification or adjustment to the work environment, or to the manner of circumstances under which the position held or desired is customarily performed, that enables a qualified individual with a disability to perform the essential functions of that position; or modification or adjustment which enables an employee with a disability to enjoy equal benefits and privileges of employment as are enjoyed by its other similarly situated employees without disabilities.

The Office of Disability Affairs assists department managers and supervisors in facilitating reasonable accommodations requests made by Fulton County employees.  We are committed to ensuring that artificial and/or real barriers which prevent or limit the employment and upward mobility of persons with disabilities be abolished.

Reasonable Accommodations may include the following:

·        Providing new equipment or devices

·        Modifying existing equipment or devices

·        Job restructuring

·        Part-time or modified work schedules

·        Reassignment to a vacant position
