County Opens 2nd Integrated Care Facility with Huge Celebration
North Fulton Service Center visited by dozens of citizens and Sandy Spring Mayor

Newly renovated North Fulton Service Center at 7741 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs
Members of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners welcomed scores of visitors to the North Fulton Service Center Saturday, July 31st to celebrate the reopening of the newly renovated facility. The 40-thousand square-foot building was gutted from top to bottom and reconfigured in 3½ months to include a new state-of-the-art Health Center. In partnership with Grady Health System, which provides primary care and family medical services, the Health Center offers behavioral health, dental, WIC/nutrition services, Travel Clinic and immunization services and referrals to specialists when the need arises. |

The morning program featured remarks by Commission Chairman John Eaves, District 3 Commissioner Lynne Riley and the host Commissioner, District 4's Tom Lowe. District 2 (At-large) Commissioner Robert "Robb" Pitts was also in attendance.
Commissioner Lowe dedicated the facility to the many Fulton County employees from Public Works, General Services and Health and Human Services who contributed to the rehabilitation of the building. He dedicated it also to the workers who now occupy the building, serving Fulton citizens in modern, comfortable surroundings.

The dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremonies were followed by a festive health fair on the newly manicured NFSC grounds. Music enlivened the crowds who braved the heat to enjoy the picnic lunch and the ice cream and yogurt treats. There were free blood pressure and glucose screenings in the Health Center. Other activities included a "treasure hunt" of the building—kids won T-shirts as prizes for completing the tour. In the community garden, kids and adults learned the craft of making newspaper hats while getting gardening tips from a host of master gardeners. The Library System's "Rocky the Reading Raccoon" was on hand for pictures and children were treated to lively tales from professional storytellers. |
