Office of Aging

Fulton County’s Office of Aging has been designated by ARC as the county-based agency for planning and coordinating senior services for Fulton County. The Office of Aging offers a continuum of services and programs for seniors who reside in Fulton County through partnerships and contracts with community based organizations, in conjunction with the Older American Acts Program.

Children & Youth

Office of Children & Youth

It is the Mission of the Office of Children and Youth to provide fundamental programs necessary to nurture the development of youth within Fulton County.  The Office of Children and Youth reaches out to the community and takes a proactive approach to the needs of young people.  As part of our continued commitment to address the well being of children and youth in Fulton County, we advocate for programs that will give youth the tools necessary to become successful members of society.

The Office of Children & Youth produces a publication entitled “About Our Youth” a district-by-district profile of Fulton County’s children and youth. Statistics and trends regarding Fulton county youth in the areas of education, health, violence and childcare are compiled, organized, and analyzed.

Disability Affairs

Office of Disability Affairs

 

The Disability Affairs Program provides Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) resources, services and ADA technical assistance/information to citizens, departments, the general public, and non-profit organizations located in Fulton County.  The mission of the Office of Disability Affairs is to be the focal point for Fulton County Government training, education, information and advocacy on disability issues and to provide services to persons with disabilities.

Office of Emergency and Transitional Housing

To provide a continuum of care in collaboration with community partnerships of homeless and at-risk women, youth, men and families resulting in their successful reintegration into the community.  We strive to enhance the continuum of care services to the homeless and at-risk men, women, families and youth to regain a state of independence that leads to a positive and productive reintegration into the community. Jefferson Place has established a continuum of homeless services including emergency shelter, transitional housing, case management, secondary substance addiction counseling, resettlement assistance, transportation, and follow- along services. Services are offered with the assistance of multiple community partnerships. Jefferson Place operates 24 hours a day, Monday through Sunday.

Our mission is to coordinate and develop internal and external resources, through a strategic planning process, to assist Fulton County's human services delivery system in its efforts to educate, advocate and deliver effective services.

To maintain a continuum of services to address the needs of Fulton County job seekers and metropolitan Atlanta area employers.  We strive to satisfy the needs of our customers by providing quality products and services in a professional, clean, and well equipped facility one customer at a time. 

 

Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Unit

The Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Unit provides ongoing support to the multitude of services and programs offered through the Fulton County Human Services Department by conducting cyclical evaluations and using data analysis to determine levels of compliance, customer satisfaction and agency liability. Our vision is to cultivate a CQI Unit recognized for providing unprecedented guidance and support to Fulton County Human Services programs through the utilization of international standards for quality management, resulting in enhanced performance outcomes and ultimately an improved quality of life for the citizens of Fulton County.  The staff of the CQI Unit is committed to exhibiting the highest levels of professional conduct, service, quality, and confidentiality.  Unit members exercise objectivity and integrity in all professional engagements, abide by ethical standards and a code of excellence, and uphold the honor and dignity of the Fulton County Human Services Department.       

Communications Unit:

The Communications Unit provides outreach for the programs of the Human Services Department. This outreach is geared towards informing the public (both individuals and groups) of the programming available for Fulton County Residents through our offices of Aging, Children & Youth, Planning & Community Partnerships, Transitional Housing, Workforce Development.

 Types of outreach vary and include everything from media advisories to public hearings to email communications to web outreach.  The Communications Unit creates and provides all forms of communication released by the Human Services Department.
