The Fulton County Human Services
Department is an organization that seeks to
strengthen people, their families and
neighborhoods through partnerships with various
community organizations and outreach programs.
Our partners include organizations that are
non-profit, private sector, government,
volunteer and citizen advocates. In
response to the growing demand for
individualized service outlets; the Human
Service Department has established six offices
that support the ever changing needs of our
citizens.
The H.I.R.E. Learning (Helping
Interns and Researchers Expand Learning) program
allows colleges and universities access to a
wealth of community service, learning and
research opportunities through our vast service
delivery network.
An internship with Fulton
County’s Human Service Department is a unique
experience for your personal and professional
growth. Interns will have the opportunity
to integrate, communicate and collaborate with a
variety of agencies within the community.
Based upon your academic training and interests,
as well as the availability of projects, interns
will be selected to work in one of the Human
Services Programmatic Offices.
The H.I.R.E. Learning Program
will require an interview as part of the
selection process. An interview not only
allows the program to more adequately assess the
extent to which students may be suitable for the
training experience offered, it also provides an
opportunity for students to ask questions which
may be helpful in deciding on the internship.
The H.I.R.E. Learning Program is not a paid
program.
To apply, students must complete
the H.I.R.E Learning Program Internship
Application form below. After completing
the form, students can either email or fax
applications to the email address and fax number
listed at the bottom of the application.
Notification of student’s application status
will be sent to the student by letter and/or
phone call.
Students with disabilities are encouraged to
apply.
